National Key Account Manager: Pool and Retail Spa

Job Summary:
The National Key Accounts Manager: Pool & Retail Spa is responsible for new business development, as well as growing existing business by implementing sales & marketing programs as directed. Developing strong professional relationships with all constituents will be a key success factor. Works closely with KTI manufacturers’ representatives providing training, motivation and sales assistance. Participates in and is an integral part of the organizing/planning of sales and marketing field programs and the monthly and yearly sales forecasting process. Assumes responsibility for handling all internal and external information in a highly confidential manner and to the highest of personal ethics.

Essential Functions:

  1. Achieves sales objectives for the pool and retail spa divisions.
  2. Provides input for developing new sales and marketing programs and products.
  3. Collects market intelligence and disseminates appropriately.
  4. Trains, develops and mentors assigned manufacturers’ representatives.
  5. Provides sales and product training for new representative sales personnel.
  6. Maintains personal budget for “travel, lodging, meals and entertainment,” as well as for Market Development Funds.
  7. Works with the entire sales team to maintain the departmental budget.
  8. Provides trip reports for all field trips and post-trade shows to communicate market dynamics, evaluations of representative groups and representative sales personnel, evaluations of distributors, dealers, builders, and service companies in these territories.
  9. Provides representative updates on a continual basis.
  10. Actively participates in the monthly sales forecasting process.
  11. Provides constant industry updates regarding new developments, competition, programs and products.
  12. Attends all national trade shows as well as local and regional shows as directed by the Vice-President of Sales & Marketing and the sales team.
  13. Works with individual sales representatives to assist them in signing up new dealers for both pool and retail spa products.
  14. Works with the Sales and Marketing Departments to plan and present the sales representative annual road shows.
  15. Works in conjunction with representatives to set up new distributors where appropriate and motivates existing distributors to increase sales of KTI products.
  16. Establishes working relationships with new and existing key builders, dealers and retailers to promote the use of KTI products.
  17. Maintains existing relationships and sales volume as well as increases business with key target accounts. This includes providing input on price levels, developing programs and promotions.
  18. Provides input from the field to the sales and marketing departments as to the wants and needs of the marketplace. This includes new product ideas or iterations to existing products, competitive information, products or programs in the marketplace.
  19. Provides input to the Vice-President of Sales & Marketing to assist in the development of annual product forecasts.
  20. Works with the marketing and sales teams to develop and execute national sales meetings for sales representatives.
  21. Attends product development meetings as required.
  22. Handles internal and external information in a highly confidential manner.
  23. Other duties as required by upper management.

Essential Job Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years field sales and sales planning experience.
  3. A minimum of two (2) years of sales supervisory experience, i.e., regional manager or a district manager.
  4. Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills.
  5. Willingness to travel extensively by car and air. Must be willing to travel nights and weekends, and at certain times of the year travel can be as much as 70 to 80 percent.
  6. Ability to work through others to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
  7. Ability to problem solve and communicate solutions.
  8. Solid computer background with specific knowledge of Microsoft Software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  9. General knowledge of CRM software and concepts.
  10. Public speaking skills.

Director of Engineering

Job Summary:

Possesses a vision and presence that reflects a “can do” attitude. Plans, analyzes and evaluates all phases of R&D, compliance and engineering programs, plans and procedures. Reviews recommendations for product designs and methods as well as equipment purchases. Initiates the creation, development, design, improvement, continuation of corporate products to conform with current established program objectives and compliance requirements. Provides engineering and compliance consultation as requested. Works as a member of top management team to meet organizational objectives for all engineering, R&D and compliance activities. Directs the appropriate staffing for the engineering, R&D and compliance functions. Controls budgets for all department activities. Works closely with the patent attorney to assure all King Technology (KTI) intellectual property is protected. Communicates extensively, completely and honestly to the executive management of KTI related to all functional responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
  1. Develops patentable KTI products without infringement on competitive patents or technologies. Works closely to manage all proprietary technology and company trade secrets. Keeps abreast of competitor products, patents, etc.
  2. Provides vision and leadership in all aspects to management team and CEO/COO
  3. Directs and manages all engineering, R&D and compliance functions of KTI.
  4. Works in concert with sales and marketing to establish and define design parameters which accurately convey desired intent for new products, market entry and product commercialization.
  5. Sets the KTI overall technology standards and practices.
  6. Selects design firms and negotiates contracts/pricing for research studies, product concepts and product development through commercialization.
  7. Leads in the development and application of methods, controls and accountability, consistent with business plans and strategies as related to processes, practices and equipment.
  8. Mentors, trains, guides, assists and directs other department personnel to further their technical knowledge.
  9. Utilizes all resources under his/her responsibility with efficiency and profitability to accomplish the objectives of KTI.
  10. Works closely with all levels of employees, in all locations, in solving corporate challenges related to new product development and continuation engineering.
  11. Confers with management team to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  12. Directs and coordinates financial and budget activities in order to fund engineering, R&D and compliance.
  13. Keeps up-to-date with current practices in all areas of responsibility and effectively assures compliance with all rules, regulations and laws related to areas of responsibility.
  14. Works closely to manage all proprietary technology and company trade secrets.
  15. Analyzes and evaluates performance of company objectives to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy change.
  16. Leads and manages staff under his/her direction. Identifies and selects the best talent to achieve the growth plans of KTI.
  17. Analyzes technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
  18. Directs, reviews and approves product design and changes.
  19. Develops and implements policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department, service, laboratory or firm.
  20. Reviews and recommends or approves contracts and cost estimates.
  21. Directs investigations into causes of customer complaints related to KTI products. Identifies rational cause and effect relationships for effective engineering solutions and implementation of permanent corrective action.
  22. Communicates effectively and gives technical information and direction to personnel (external or internal).
  23. Participates in all KTI strategic planning meetings and helps develop KTI’s three-year plan.
  24. Represents the best interests of KTI at all times and in a professional manner.
  25. Exemplifies sound character, values and commitment consistent with the vision, mission and objectives of KTI.
  26. Communicates clearly to CEO and all other directors or equivalent positions. Responsible to ensure all parties understand the direction, status of all meetings, projects and development.
Essential Job Qualifications:
  1. A bachelor's degree in engineering; master’s degree in engineering or business administration preferred.
  2. Familiarity with electro-mechanical products desired, also direct experience with water treatment a plus. Some knowledge of chemistry and Good Laboratory Practice guidelines as required by FIFRA helpful.
  3. Ten (10) years experience in increasingly complex supervisory positions.
  4. Excellent verbal and written skills.
  5. Excellent technical, conceptual and financial skills.
  6. Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.
